in the packing of the day the girls and I talked about things we want to do/see in Argentina...
in no particular order:
1. eat meat everyday in some form (my oldest loves her meat)
2. see the Pope
3. fish in a pond
4. ride a bike somewhere every day
5. see the inside of the Casa Rosada (we only saw the outside on our visit)
6. ride the subway a lot.. (my youngest loved, loved, loved the subway)
7. visit Uruguay
8. take a cruise to see penguins in Antarctica
9. eat medilunas everyday for 3 pm snack
10. learn how to play field hockey
11. tango
:D
After 8 yrs of raising our girls here in Argentina.. we are empty nesters still in Argentina.. a whole new adventure!

10 months....
it is hard to imagine that it has been 10 months since we made the decision as a family to move to Argentina. since then my husband has been home maybe 5 weeks, a whole school year has gone by, I have worked a job I swore I was leaving immediately and I have learned not a single stitch of Spanish.
when we first found out I did everything to prepare.... I was 100% ready.. and then the dreaded paperwork and general slowness of my husbands company came into play and month after month we heard 'soon' but we didn't move..
now we have a tentative move date, a house in Argentina rented, school is almost out, I am finally free of my job and I still know no more Spanish than I did 10 months ago (or maybe a little)..
today the kids and I packed up my husbands closet and slowly and steady we are going drawer by drawer, closet by closet weeding out what we won't store while we are away. I am constantly reminding the girls we will find a way to take what is important, give away what isn't, and store a memory needed for when we come home..
10 months ago I was ready..
today I was gently reminded by my tears that being ready was 10 months ago...
