So this update is a bit late.. :)

So 2015 came to an end.. 2016 has started and I have sat down to write a blog post like 12 times, but have failed all 12 times.. I have really been struggling with homesickness.. struggling with just how I feel about being here.. blah.. but now here I am.. almost Feb. 1st finally getting to the blog.. so we have been off since Dec. 18th of school.. it is lovely.. kids go back Feb. 1st and I think they are ready!!

So what have we been up to the past 6 weeks... ahhhhh let me show you:)

Star Wars comes out the last day of school and we don't miss a beat getting to the movies!!  It was great, loved by all..

Christmas happens!! Cora finds out I am the best Santa's helper ever and things will forever be changed.. no more having to stress about remember the tooth fairy money.. lol.. good times for me I say!!

we consume a lot of pancakes.. thank GOD we have two bottles of this liquid gold in the pantry!!

We play a lot of board games.. :)  even if we buy them sealed and are missing some pieces.. that's right.. we go on..

to ring in 2016 we ate our first meal out at my favorite Bodega here in BA.. there is nothing finer than a good grilled provoleta, meat so tender you can cut it with a spoon, perfect potatoes and grandmas home made vanilla cake of heaven.. all with a hug from the waiter that now knows your order by heart.. it is good!  :)  and makes me happy.. of course they close all February.. which makes me sad:(
We remember to be tourists in this city we are loving!!!  BA at night is spectacular!!

so once again this year we went up to Gualeguaychu, Argentina for Carnival.. the carnival parade takes place every Saturday in January & February.  This was our first repeat trip and it did NOT disappoint.. the carnival is amazing.. 3 carnival troops prepare all year coming up with floats and a theme.. the parade is 3-4 hours of high energy.. wonderful.....

how these ladies dance and parade for hours in those heals!!!  wow..

each float more amazing than the next one

costumes that weigh, I can only imagine, a ton!!

not all themes I get.. bananas are fun and tasty though right??

beautiful butterlies

making bugs look beautiful

keeping up with last year.. we all purchased new carnival crowns!!!  it is just what you have to do!

so after 14 or so hours of travel getting from BA to Salvador, Brasil this was the plane that greeting us to take us to the resort of KiaRoa in the Bahia region of Brasil.. super remote and very lovely.. this plane scared me.. I won't lie.. I don't like flying  or travel very much to begin with.. this was realllllly hard for me to get on!!

that's right.. look close.. a screw is missing.. this worried me the whole flight..

the views of course were beyond beautiful.. when I looked out the window.. when I wasn't crafting my plane for living should the plane go down in the water..

this pretty much sums up Brasil as a whole for me.. welcome to paradise!!!  I would gladly live in Brasil any where, any time..  I love the people, the culture, the food, the music, the surroundings... Brasil has yet to disappoint..
private beach for swimming.. yes please

The resort was only about 40 people total completely remote from everything, but then only a 10 minute taxi ride to the small town that allowed us to explore a bit, take a beautiful boat ride and find the best pizza in Latin America.. according to my pizza loving husband.

I love Brasil.. that is what the caption would be.. if I put a caption on it..

the part of the beach when the tide goes down reveals a coral reef that is amazing.. so many small traps for fish so you can see them.. very cool..

The resort had lovely grounds to explore

I won't lie.. the face that she looks older and more mature in each photo kills me:(

even in the remote I have the best of friend that sends me an update that cream cheese is back in BA.. after 5 1/2 months of NOT having this delight.. this was the best text ever!!

exploring with dad.. I think while I had a massage.. or a snooze in the hammock..

as much as this guy wanted to go home with us, we left him...

so we went on a boat ride to a waterfall.. one of the few river waterfalls that fall into an ocean in the world... it was very cool.. we went right in and got drenched... this was us dry.. before the boat captain took no mercy on us..

all of the swimming, waterfall, boating made for one hungry girl.. lobster it is!!

proof she still loves me enough to hold my hand.. I treasure the moments..

ok.. so hands down the best food combo ever.. cheese and pan sautéed bananas.. heaven.. no one quite does it like Brasil does it..

so on the Bahia in Brasil the roads are dirt and there are taxis, moto taxis or the public 'bus'..

we took the public bus.. 15 minute ride that felt like a roller coaster ride.. LOL.. kids loved it

best of all was the fact that this week in Brasil was needed by all we saw.. the kids needed it, I needed it and most of all Scott needed it.. we had fun, we were connected together and we realized we really do like one another.. LOL

well next week starts school and begins the routine again... but don't worry.. Scott has already planned Feb, March and April trips:)  I'll be back!!
