So it has been made known to me it has been about 12 weeks since I have been home from our wonderful 'break' from reality here.. and I have not blogged... I have been meaning to blog, but I will be honest, it was hard to come back to Buenos Aires..
I have been having trouble settling back into life here and I can be honest when I tell you this that right now as I type this I still feel unsettled. It is home, but it isn't home.. and that is a hard one to explain when it is a feeling you have..
Since we have been home though Nola has started 7th grade and Cora 6th grade. The girls continue to blow me away with their love of spanish, school, friends and after school sports!! They are really enjoying the school year to date..
We have slowly settled into the routine with Saturdays back at the soccer field for Cora.. Spanish class for me and more swimming for Nola..
We had a blast in NYC.. as we head for Madrid, Spain this weekend.. I reminisce on our trip to NYC...
| When living away from home.. having some comfort foods for breakfast makes for 3 very, very happy Gibson Girls |
| So we stayed in Hoboken, NJ.. which is where Scott went to college and a short ferry ride from NYC.. it was perfect.. the first task (aside from hitting the mall and shopping till we dropped), was to hit up Mavery Designs for the perfect NYC cross body tote!! the girls love sewing them.. what a GREAT way to start our week |
| plus just super adorable!! |
So it is hard to have time for every family member.. but I am so thankful for my Aunt Pat.. who made time for us, not once, but twice.. it was an awesome time to see not only her and my Aunt Dot, but tons of extended family... wonderful for me and the girls.. me especially!!
| so in NYC.. I made the girls eat many, many, many dirty water dogs.. we all survived.. :) |
| these kids asked DAILY if I had bought tickets to see Fully Committed.. EVERY DAY.. |
| we love the crazy happy feel of NYC.. and the candy.. we love the candy and we bought alot.. even knowing we were going to Hershey Park in just a few days.. |
| yeah.. she is taller than me, cuter than me and thinking she is 19... OY |
| spending the day at the MET .. amazing.. this was our favorite outfit in the hall of design.. I only wish it was for sale.. |
| Nola says this should be her dress for when she goes to prom.. made of plastic.. :) |
| So when you husband is the bomb and sends you on an all day amazing scavenger hunt of the city.. you get to have things like egg creams, pastrami on rye, bagels and Dr. Browns cream soda.. you also get to see amazing buildings, take subways and eat the most amazing cookie ever.. one you kids have never ever even heard of.. the black and white.. :) |
| you also have to do ridiculous things like take a photo of you with the staff at the Math Museum!! We are going to say.. they were cooler than the Rockettes.. maybe.. :) |
| our favorite building.. :) |
| highlight of the week for me.. seeing this beauty.. I met her when I was just a young thing and she was 6 months old.. she is now an amazingly strong and beautiful woman living in NYC and working this great job.. and having bagels delivered in under 20 minutes :) I am so proud of her.. and I adore her.. |
| you also find it totally ironic that you travel to NYC and to the natural history museum only to see a dinosaur unearthed in Argentina.. |
| Now I will say for all of the planning I did.. broadway shows I planned, museums, dinner, favorite spots, food, etc.. nothing, nothing beats the day daddy arrives and take the kids to see Fully Committed with their FAVORITE actor of all times and he waits with them to get this awesome photo.. yeah.. I was pretty much chopped liver at this moment.. LOL |
| Texas.. where the sunset on July 4th was amazing.. super amazing.. waiting for the fireworks to come with great friends.. small town living.. |
| I don't ever doubt why Nola feels Texas is her home.. I get it.. it is home.. |
| This is our Texas family.. I can't accurately tell you how much these people mean to me... let's just say something like the world.. |
| and then to end our trip we spent some quality time with this cool grandma here.... who endured shopping, movies, chinese food and the crankiness that is the Gibson Girls when they are not ready to leave and just go back home.. |
| if we could go back.. I wouldn't say no.. wonderful memories... |
