So for a while it did not feel right to be posting on social media or blogging about Italy.. but I have decided that the point of this blog for me was to be able to remember the places we went as a family.. no matter what happened during them. Sadly while we were in Italy, my father in law, Paul passed away.. We had to leave Italy early and head over to New Jersey to be with family and to say good bye..
But before we did that.. let me tell you about Italy!!

| In true Gibson fashion, we land at 7 am and immediately have a tour booked.. LOL.. Our first stop is the Colosseum and man it was brilliant and did NOT disappoint in any way, shape or form! |

| so let me be 100% transparent with you.. we went to Rome, Naples and Florence.. for one thing.. pizza!! and we ate it all.. all we could find.. and we loved it all.. so basically here are the photos of just a few of the pizzas we ate.. |

| the night my father in law passed we went out for pizza.. and we managed to order in memory of him.. not a time we didn't arrive in New Jersey and we didn't have a family pizza.. cheese for Scott and a sausage and onion with a hint of extra cheese for the rest of us.. never failed.. Paul would always make sure his boy got his favorite pizza! |

| A tour of the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel! AMAZING.. hard to tell you which I did more.. look at the floors, walls or ceilings.. they are all covered in amazing pieces of art. |

| when your private tour includes 5 minutes to take photos of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel... you basically sit in wonder of it all while your family takes photos and later when you blog, you take credit for the photos.. LOL |

| My favorite part of Italy.. pasta making class!!! was such fun mostly because Italians put love into their food.. with their whole soul... they love food and they love to see the joy their food brings others.. We really had such a good time slowing down and taking the reminder to do really everything in life... with love.. |

| As we headed out missing a few days of our vacation Scott pulled off a 3 am visit to this most amazing monument.. :) and with that, Italy was complete!! |

| I will say the bonus part of our trip was spending time with this girl.. my beautiful niece who is growing a bit too fast for my liking.. while I am not there to see the daily I am thankful for more connection now that before. She is a feisty, adorable and super smart one and I am happy she likes me!! |
